How to Enable 2fa on Fortnite
Two-factor-authentication or shortly known as 2fa is a way to increase the security of an account. It works simple, it adds another layer of security on top of your password. Whenever it is required, you will receive a verification code to either your registered e-mail or to the authenticator app you’re using. Epic Games’ way of using 2fa on Fortnite accounts is lighter than most other platforms that use it since it asks for the verification code only when your account is being logged on a new device or logging in after 30 days.
Epic Games heavily promotes 2fa on all Fortnite accounts. The company has featured numerous special events that players could only take part in if they enabled 2fa on their Fortnite accounts. These events include gifting, Epic Games Store sales, free rewards, and more.
How to Enable 2FA?
Enabling 2fa is one of the easiest things you can do on your Fornite account. Just log in your account and click on Password&Security tab in the left menu. Scroll down until you see 2FA, select the method you want to be verified with. As mentioned above, it can be either done with an authenticator app or registered e-mail. We highly recommend using your e-mail since uninstalling such an authenticator app can result in not being able to log in on your account.
Authenticator apps that Epic Games allow are Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and LastPass Authenticator. After deciding on which one you want, you will verify yourself once and that’s it! You will be succesfully enabled 2fa on Fortnite.
