Two-factor-authentication is probably the best way that you can secure your Fortnite account. It is used by many companies, websites, and apps but what separates Fortnite 2fa from others is that it doesn’t always ask you for a verification code whenever you log in. Epic Games will only ask for you to verify yourself when logging from a new device or after not being logged in for 30 days.
You can enable 2fa from https://fortnite.com/2fa after logging to your Epic Games account. Head over to the link above and get to Account Settings from the top right. Now click on Password&Security and scroll down until you get to the page dedicated to 2fa. Now verify yourself either through an authenticator app or via your registered e-mail.
Authenticator apps that are approved by Epic Games include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, and Authy. We highly recommend verifying it through the registered e-mail because if you lose access to your authenticator app, you won’t be able to get back to it upon installing again.
Enabling 2fa on https://fortnite.com/2fa not only gives your account a security boost, but it also grants you a pass to Epic Games special events. To promote this feature, Epic regularly comes up with events that require 2fa to be enabled on the participant’s accounts. Stay tuned as this page will be updated when new events related to 2fa comes up.
